Here at the Social Security Board (SSB) we have a mandate to be responsible corporate citizens and in so doing we have adopted GIVES, as a corporate philosophy to keep us focused and to guide our decision making.

G – Going Green

I – Improved Health Outcomes

V – Values Partnerships

E – Empowered Workforce

S – Scholarship Program

SSB has invested in several goodwill programs during the years in keeping with the GIVES philosophy; one of these programs is the SSB Scholarship Program. This program was established in 2001 to be a catalyst to propel successful applicants to the next level of scholastic achievement. Once realized, the key of academic success opens the door to opportunities that bring financial independence and a strengthening of our Belizean economy. We recognize that one of the ways to build Belize is to build its people.

Since 2001, over 1,000 students have successfully completed the scholarship program and are the proud recipients of a diploma, degree or vocational technical skills acquired from the various educational and vocational institutions in Belize.
